November 9, 2019 - Interesting wine, but not the most pleasurable. Dark, translucent colour. In the nose a delightful and precise expression of rasperry and some darker fruit - but thats about it. This limited aromatic spectrum continues in the mouth, where the wine is medium-bodied, but quite powerful. The distracting feature is its lack of generosity. While I usually like fresh reds akin to Burgundy or Piedmont, this one is too dry, acidic and tannic for me.
The wine may improve with age, as it still feels very young, but I would not bet on that. The mineral quality, which is mentioned in other TNs, is not evident for me, but may be hidden behind all the sharpness and tannin. The wine could work with a big piece of beef though.

Addition: On day 3 the wine has become more interesting, with notes of truffles adding complexity to smell and taste. Yet the mouthfeel remains angular and tough.
