Community Tasting Note

  • Optimus Wine Likes this wine: 100 points

November 14, 2019 - One of the advantages of being in Chile is the access to wines that are not yet widely available back in the US right now. I had the pleasure to visit Concha y Toro yesterday and had the opportunity to try this wine. I can see why this wine received 100 points. It’s one of the most phenomenal wines I have ever tasted. It has a deep purple core with a ruby rim. On the nose the aromatics dance with black cherry, black plum and hints of light black pepper. The taste is extraordinary, the Carmenere really wants to shine out amongst all the other varietals. I got black and red fruit along with spice and hints of espresso beans. My conclusion is that this wine is one of the best I have ever tasted. The tannins are round and the finish is beautiful. This wine is super complex and has so much going on but at the same time isn’t overwhelming. I am now a life long fan of this wine and would highly recommend this master piece.
