November 14, 2019 - A couple of years ago I was mildly put off by its strong ripeness, but I liked it with this bottle (*). Southern Rhone Grenache driven wine (**) leaps out of the glass, a dead ringer for a high end CdR or low to mid end CdP. Ripe and baking red fruits, roasted earth and game meat, dried and fresh mixed herbs. It does fall out in the middle a bit though. This is more of an up front wine with a decent finish.

It's nice to store some of these Cotes de Tablas bottles rather than exclusively cellaring the Esprits. I feel that stored at ideal cellar temperature many of the CdTs could develop up to 8-10 years very well.

    * ...which was stored in the mid-50s to mid-60s (seasonally) for the past six years, so aging is certainly accelerated against a perfect cellar.

** Half Grenache, a quarter+ Syray, then Mourvedre and a dollop of Counoise. 13.5% abv, which is an achievement for the flavor profile and place. This might be helping a feeling of balance, keeping it fresh enough to avoid becoming heavy and monotonous.
