  September 14, 2008 - Cherry and smoke on the nose. loads of fruit and tannins were subtle to start with just enough acid. a little vegetation mixed in well. really came around after an hour. screaming for a lamb chop. this was my first hermitage and i can't see ever buying a california syrah again. magnificent.
