Community Tasting Note

  • Badfish Likes this wine:

December 4, 2019 - Decanted and followed over a three hour period. Deep ruby core turning slightly pink at the rim. The nose is mainly earth driven with perfumed aromas of crushed stones, wet earth, black cherry, and violets. The palate is precise, inviting, and structured with earthy red fruit, chalky acidity, and firm peppery tannins. I am really happy with how this wine is showing right now. From all my recent experiences with middle aged Rhys Pinots I think they are just that, middle aged, appropriately structured, and showing some awkward tendencies. I think this wine needs at least another 10-15 years.
