December 11, 2019 - My second bottle is rather different from my previous note.

I decanted gently, removing some light sediment, then started to drink maybe 20 minutes later. Initially there's a little much acidic bite on the palate, but this quickly dissipates. After 45 minutes there's a muted nose of dark fruit, and a nicely balanced palate of dark fruit with notes of leather, perhaps a little iron(?), light acidity and moderate+ tannins. The finish is quite long and drying.

Unlike the previous bottle this seems quite stable over the next hour or so, and is very decent classic Margaux, albeit somewhat below first wines in terms of weight and complexity.

At US$28 it's OK, but not great, QPR.
