    December 26, 2019 - Still a bit more austere than I like to drink my Barolo. It's been 19 years and the beast is still untamed. I know the estate doesn't use barrique but it feels as if the fruit is starting to be covered up by the oak, which worries me a bit. I have doubts this will get any better with time. It may have been better to drink up a few years ago and decant. I'd be curious to read a note five years from now as this was my only bottle.

    It may be a dumb phase, but from other experiences, I doubt it. I recall waiting for Seghesio for so long and it just never improved. The oak overtook the fruit completely. Maybe it was just my bottle. I hope so.
