February 9, 2020 - One part classic Massican SB, with the chalk and lemon-line citrus notes, but perhaps a bit of malolactic fermentation on the back end? Or oak? It tastes a bit more plush and a little more creamy than in past vintages which always have a bracing, lightning acidity on the finish that I prefer. It’s still a great wine from a great producer but a step away from the neck-snapping intensity that I crave from Massican. Hoping future vintages bring back that kick.
