February 16, 2020 - Did a pop and pour and slo Ox for a couple of hours. Not a bad showing initially. Crushed Crayola crayons on the nose. Palate with ripe cherry. Fairly primary still. Alcohol a little noticeable on the finish along with some astringency. Was going to throw it into a decanter but got lazy and impatient. Whipped out the aerator and poured it through. An amazing transformation for sure. Ripe cherry with some tartness in the midpalate for balance along with a menthol note. Tannins are smooth, round. Not heavy at all. Seamless from entry through to an endless finish. I hesitate to bring out the aerator most of the time but will have to give it a go more often.
