March 7, 2020 - Way to young, not sure about potential. 87 for now, half of bottle left from yesterday, will revisit later today and update.

Bought the case on online-auction, paid US$25 per bottle, to cheap to be true? Anyone out there who’s been scammed on amarone deals?

3/7/20, 11:51 AM - I haven't opened mine yet, but Decanter gave it 95 points. Is it possible that it simply needs more time in the cellar? Or maybe you bought a poorly stored case at your auction? Retail price online looks to be $50 and up -- not exactly cheap. I paid $55.

3/8/20, 5:12 AM - So I revisited the bottle again last night. I left the cork in over night and it must have been a good 24 hours since I first opened and decanted the bottle.

Sure might be that this wine just needs another 5 years in the cellar, cause it was thin an acidic now as well. Maybe I should have left the cork out to get a better understanding.

If a fraudster would have sold me other wine, I assume it would be a more easy going wine than this. So my conclusion is that either this was a bad bottle or that this wine now is closed. So no hurry to open the rest of the case, nor the double magnum in my cellar!
