  June 9, 2018 - This bottle shows the characteristic super-fine bubbles of this cuvee, but the color a bit darker than I recall from other bottles from this stash. Initially classic with fermented butter and nutty oxidative notes but with air this turns very caramel-y, with flavors strongly reminiscent of amontillado sherry. Lingering walnutty oxidation notes on finish. Usually love this wine, but this bottle crossed the line of being too rancio for me.
