March 29, 2020 - This is probably the youngest S-M which I have drunk with a meal. I have mostly first approached them round the 20 year mark. However, 2012 is mostly an approachable vintage in Bordeaux, so I took the plunge. The bouquet on the nose was a bit shy at first but the palate was open for business showing medium+ body, savoury fruit, graphite, earthy minerals, some generosity and still firm but quite ripe tannins on the finish. This last earned the comment "rough" from across the table but I felt they contributed indispensable structure. Room for more beneficial development but very good already.
