April 1, 2020 - nose dominated by cherry liquer, raw chocolate, coffee, cream. also faint savoury elements of soy / fish sauce. mouth-coating tannins grab the attention first, followed by rather high acidity. flavours of coffee and wood, but fruit barely identifiable at this stage. dry, bitter finish. disjointed and coarse. not sure whether there's any room for improvement...

two days later, the wine is in a much better shape. fruit is more present (blackberries), there's leather, tobacco, chocolate. the nose is more fragrant too, with pleasant florals and tar / earth. high acidity is still there but the tannins have been smoothed out quite a bit. still a bit coarse, but definitely more pleasant and approachable

4/1/20, 1:06 PM - Typically strong tannins and acid indicate a lot of room for improvement, they will soften/integrate over time and reveal other nuances.

4/2/20, 4:28 AM - thank you for your informative feedback and certainly hope that's the case, although there is very little positive to be said at the current time...
