April 5, 2020 - First Fidelio I've had since the inaugural 2016 vintage which, at that time, was our favorite Ca SB ever (didn't drink it until after the 17-18 vintages had been released so didn't buy them...doh!). I realize that's subjective, but now after having the 2019 vintage we realize the Fidelio is just special for both me and my wife.
When poured from the bottle it looks almost as clear as water! That was shocking. In the glass it shows more color than water, but it is still one of the lightest colored white wines we've seen. It was surprising, then, when tasting how dense and complex it was relevant to its' color.
It is bursting with floral bright fruit, a tad savory, unusual, spicey, peach, lime tart. Saw one review mention tangerine and voila! that's the flavor descriptor I was looking for.
Serve this slightly chilled. Dee-lish now and I'm sure for the next couple of years. Classic Sauvignon Blanc.

4/7/20, 4:40 AM - I found your description right on. The fruit is bright and I would tend to emphasize lime tart and grapefruit. Some describe it as cat pee which is prevelent in well made SB. It is really interesting to see the clear pour and then taste a dense and complex wine. Overall, the wine looks and tastes somewhat like Fresca soda without the bubbles.
