Community Tasting Note

  • Badfish Likes this wine:

April 13, 2020 - Decanted for about two hours and consumed over the following two. Quite dark in the glass with a garnet purple core and slight bricking at the rim. The aromas are dark and exuberant with notes of black cherry, wild berries, forest floor, slate, and mace. The palate is dense, ripe, and still well structured with interesting spice complexity on the back end. The flavors are rich, the tannins are stern yet sweet, and the acids are edgy. I am surprised with how ripe, structured, and youthful this is showing and I think another ten years is warranted before revisiting. Not the greatest Rhys I have had but also one of the more embryonic.
