April 25, 2020 - Decanted for a few hours before serving. A fair amount of sediment.
Opaque, very dark purple in color, with no lightening around the edges. Plum, spice, and a hint of VA on the nose. Strong anise/licorice and earthy flavors initially evolving into something more pruney. Slight volatility evident throughout. Very full bodied and lush mouthfeel. Medium finish. Not a bad or defective wine, but not a top tier Cabernet either. It worked OK with a dry-aged NY strip steak with its own funky flavor.
