May 4, 2020 - this is a good wine - its just that it did NOT meet our expectations when we paired it with spaghetti Bolognese; the Bolognese was made from scratch and cooked in a slow cooker for seven hours!!! -it was delectably sublime - what a flavor - what a dish!!! - while the wine was a bit astringent and underwhelming... the sangiovese grape is a very good pairing with this recipe - and we thought this Brunello will be a great match....it was not... the Bolognese is divine....

5/4/20, 11:49 AM - While loving the detail of your TN, I think you meant "...it's just that it did [not] meet our expectations..." ;) With respect to the Altesino, do you think perhaps it "but" needs a bit more time? BTW, since I've next to NO experience pairing Brunello, I *very* much appreciate you including that it would be a "very good pairing" with spaghetti Bolognese! :)

we usually will have a good reserve Chianti with Italian meals - especially with red sauce meats - a Brunello is a good step step up - u just need to find a good Brunello and this one just did not make the grade - in our opinion; perhaps we'll try a super Tuscan next....
