May 11, 2020 - This was surprisingly satisfying. On day one it was double decanted at lunch time and I had just a glass for dinner. At its tender age this was obviously very primary and angular, and quite new world. I left it completely alone on day two but came back on it day three. It had now smoothed out, and while retaining its primary character (of course) and new world style, there was elegance, intensity and charm. It was surprisingly well balanced through to the long and almost spicy finish. I enjoyed it more than the score of 93 I give it here. As I said, very satisfying, but I can't push myself to give a wine that lacks complexity more than this. It has a great future, but I will keep drinking it until it eventually closes down to become whatever the wine-maker had in mind for it.
