  May 16, 2020 - Clearly not a pure Merlot. Has like 85% Merlot rest being Cab Franc and Petit Verdot. The fruit is very ripe, blackish rather than purple. More acidicity than in pure merlot. Hints of licorice and spice. Markedly tannic too. Not at all fruit forward. Interesting and serviceable, but also a little pretentious. I personally prefer a more merloty fruit forward style, even from South Africa. Can someone bring back those Culembourg merlots with all that vanilla?
