May 15, 2020 - Oakville. Right in my sweet spot. 20 months on oak, 10 years of bottle age. 2008 showing just fine over two nights. Had to double decant and filter due to a soft cork and sediment, but it was well worth the extra step.
Color is deep garnet with no discoloration towards the rim. Really liked the nose right on opening. So much blackberry, plum, licorice, tobacco and pitch with just a hint of porcine.
Medium plus mouthfeel. Super flavor development at this point. Fruity with layers of secondary flavors and powerful tannin on open on open and after 2 hours, showing it's age and pedigree. Finish showing more mushroom and mineral notes as the night went on.
Still holding it's own on night two with little further development from the previous night. Enjoyed and shared with family and friends, just like the bottle says.409 views
