June 1, 2020 - Tasted blind. White flowers, some orchard fruit, almonds, and citrus on the nose. Medium acidity and slightly viscous on the palate with flavors of meyer lemon and apples. There is a richness on the palate, but I didn't find it to be sweet. Nice, long finish.

Generally, this wine was a bit weird and changed a bunch in the glass... At first it reminded me of a Terlan Vorberg Pinot Bianco and others also didn't get much Chardonnay character. With lots of air, this changed, but I wouldn't have thought Chablis. The warm vintage is clearly showing, but there is very good quality underneath. I wonder how this will taste in 5+ years. 92+

6/2/20, 12:55 PM - Andreas-I don't think I would have been too happy with the wine if it showed the way you described it, but the good news is that Dauvissat wines from riper vintages often start out a bit fat but somehow transform into leaner, more typical Chablis with time in the bottle. At least that's been my experience with vintages like 2005, 2006, and 2009. So, if you have more, keep the faith!

6/2/20, 3:48 PM - Thanks. Yeah, we had that discussion as well (via Zoom these days ;)). Someone else opened this wine, but I do have a few bottles and don't regret buying them. While it wasn't showing the way I would've expected, the quality is clearly there and like you said, let's hope it sheds some of the fat with time. I'm not giving up :)
