Falanghina del Sannio DOC
Back Label Bol*ocks......
"long finish" It's not, it's medium-long.
''Complex''... no, it's not complex.
''Crisp'', yes it's crisp.
''Stone fruit'' yes there's decent stone fruit in mouth.
''Orange peel'' not for me.
''Acacia flowers'' What? Tesco PR dept having a laugh here, there's no Acacia flowers.
A solid high-quality Quaffer, food not essential. Plenty happening and it's interesting wine with very good QPR/VFM. Will buy again. Very good fruit profile, but Dry.
N.....faint apple, lemon
C....straw with some green
T....medium+ body, lively and juicy mouth feel, good acidity corrects big soft white fruit, almonds, lemon, some thyme/bramble herbals, I was surprised by it's significant earthy/ mineral limestone impression (for a wine at this price); pithy grapefruit, a touch of quince. Some length. Mature, ready now, drink up.
VFM?.....bargain, will buy 2017 again, and 2018 when it arrives. Another value for money solid performer from the Tesco's 'Finest' range. Is Tesco's 'Finest' the best 'top level' range of all the UK supermarkets? Probably.413 views
