September 1, 2020 - Decanted (threw a lot of sediment) for 3 hours and back into cleaned bottle. This chateau always produces this wine in a big, modern, fruit forward kind of way, and this wine is no exception. From 50 year old vines this wine sometimes lacks a bit of terroir, but it's still a good wine. Full bodied with cherry, cassis, plum, and still resolving cedar on the nose and palate. Seems every time I drink this it comes off a bit plummy at first, but morphs into a solid wine with plenty of time. I buy this in almost every good right bank vintage and glad to have more as I think it's a good qpr.
