September 7, 2020 - Bold, dark raspberry, black cherry, and chocolate, with great acidity, firm tannins, and some oak. Big structure and fruit resolution balance with a frisky alcohol heat streak. Lively Syrah, drinking well, with its best years still ahead.

9/8/20, 2:41 PM - Thanks for the comment, and yes, I feel lucky. I bought it at release, and have been reading all the mixed reviews ever since. I opened it last night with low expectations — and no small sense of dread lol — so you can imagine my surprise. I wonder if bottle variance issues that could explain such a wide array of reactions(?).
