September 16, 2020 - Beautiful clear dark ruby in colour. Notes of black currant, licorice, cedar and dark chocolate. Dry, med body, med acidity, elegant tannins. Med finish. Only 3 years old, a baby, and drinking so well. Love all of Bills wines, but this one hilights his skill. It blends old world elegance with new world style. I think this could easily age another 10-15 years easily. I still think Fairview Cellars and Bill are the biggest unsung heros of BC wine.

9/19/20, 6:35 PM - Enjoyed your recent vertical TN's here, Rex. I see you rated this a tad higher than the '11...

Do you feel Bill is getting better with this wine as he goes, or does The Bear drink better when young?

So agree - this one flies under the radar by a mile.

9/19/20, 8:45 PM - Love Bills wines overall, older and younger. But I am starting to feel I am more impressed when they are younger. Overall I love BC wines around 6 years of age, but I am by no means a pro at this and still figuring things out.
