September 30, 2020 - This, my second bottle, answers the question I asked after the first: is the 2018 as good as the amazing 2017 vintage of this remarkable wine? YES! I wrote detailed notes for that bottle in May 2020, and all of them still apply, even if I have raised my rating by one point. Instead of repeating them here, I will address again what makes this such an unusal and satisfying wine: it has one of the most floral, fruity, sweet and complex aromatic profiles of any red wine in the world, yet it’s flavor profile and body are that of a « dry » medium-weight table wine with a savory, sappy and bittersweet finish. What you get on the attack is not at all what you get on the finish. It’s a delicious and remarkable wine with an outstanding QPR.

4/18/21, 4:57 PM - I agree. The aromatics of this wine are stunningly complex...literally changing with every swirl, and every degree of temperature change from cellar to room temp. Crazy that I’m buying this for $22 CND lol
