October 21, 2020 - Edit: After three years in the closet this showed a lot of prunes/raisin. A taste I do not appreciate much. Got better with chocolate. 88

10/21/20, 11:35 PM - Yes I will try at least. First I should clarify that I don't store my wines in perfect condition. So if you have a perfectly tempered wine cellar my findings might not relate to you.

But after almost three years in semi-perfect conditions this showed a lot of raisin/prune, a taste that I do not appreciate in my wine, and something I tend to find in wines after they been stored for a longer period of time.

So this I tend to call over the top. Since I'm fairly new in this I don't really know if it's a phase. I hope this made things clearer. :)

There are many who regard the 2006 as really quite young still. My favourite Musars at the moment are the 1998 and 1999.

10/23/20, 11:38 AM - The storage issue is interesting with Musar. I am lucky enough to have the real thing (a cellar that is) but I have drunk Musars that have been kept in the most unsuitable locations for years and they never seem to be any the worse for it. Other wines would have curled up and died in those circumstances.

Corks are another anomaly with this wine. They crumble, refuse to come out and weep. Not had one occasion where this has happened that seemed to affect the wine. Agree with the comment on the 98’s and 99’s. Drinking great at the moment. Next in line for me will be my 01’s, 02’s and 03’s. All the later ones will continue to gather dust!
