Community Tasting Note

October 23, 2020 - 1 Feb 2005 disgorgement. Rich deep gold, still a strong initial mousse that tailed off. Nose of burnt orange, light caramel and lemongrass. A little chunky on the palate, fresh still with a gentle but crisp finish.

10/23/20, 9:20 AM - Thank you for the note and for including the disgorgement date. For my own taste, I have found Initial of this age to be overly oxidative and wonder whether the "light caramel" you describe refers to that characteristic in this bottle.

10/23/20, 9:56 AM - Caramel, could be linked to oxidation or autolysis. However both my wife and I independently commented that this was a lot less oxidative than the same bottling 5-7 years ago!
