Community Tasting Note

  • mclanew Likes this wine: 94 points

October 24, 2020 - Popped and poured. Nice nose of red cherry, olives and leather but a little rustic. The palate on the other hand is outstanding and very much a live with red cherries, strawberry with complex leather and earth notes coming through. Medium bodied with fully resolved tannins but good energy this feels like it can continue to hold at this state of maturity for a long time

10/25/20, 1:02 AM - I have generally good luck with riojas from the 70s and interestingly sometimes the Riservas can be as good or better than the Gran Riservas

10/25/20, 1:31 AM - Hi there McLanew, me too and I have to agree with your preferences but at that time those terms of Reserva or GR were no significant as they are nowadays ... by the way I also agree with your 2005 Lascombes tasting note. My only bottle in 2030.
    Cheers,
