October 26, 2020 - Great old world style Zin. Kuleto is such a hidden gem. Their Cabs are fantastic and their Zin is so balanced and unlike the jammy Cali Zins. This was bordering Italian wine in style.
Color: Dark Ruby
Nose: Black fruit, pepper, iron, wet earth
Palate: Raspberry, Plum, pepper, savory, Medium plus alcohol, Medium body, Medium plus acidity, Medium tannins
Finish: I don't know how to verbalize it but it has that Italian Wine finish. It's very distinct for me but not sure how to put it. Bitter red fruit, perhaps?610 views

10/27/20, 4:01 PM - I see VERY few notes on Kuleto wines, but totally agree with you. I think their zinfandels (and their syrahs, actually) are some of the best of what they do. Sad to say, I feel like their vineyard and winery operations have been in a constant state of flux the last couple years, and their cabs are not as interesting as they used to be. But I'll keep drinking their Zin and Syrah, for sure.

I think the QPR for their wines is pretty strong, especially considering I'm a Chalk Hill member and I'm in the industry so I get about 30-40% off at any point!!
They have great wines to serve to folks who have never heard or experienced their product. Certainly will continue to support them!
