November 17, 2020 - Way better than I thought this could be, especially considering the cork broke in half and I had to do surgery to open this bottle without letting the cork touch the wine! While many complained of the lack of fruit (partially true in my perception), this wine more than makes up for it in delicate spice, a beautifully floral note, and an impeccable finish. I did get faded cherry on the nose, with secondary notes of leather and clove. The mid mouth has a touch of sweetness (in a good way), which leads to a finish that keeps you wanting more. Refined enough to sip, sturdy enough to stand up to my skirt steak with chimichurri. Wonderful, pleasant surprise as I though this would be on the decline...
