November 18, 2020 - Maderized. Another bottle. I’ve chucked away more than $400 on dead bottles from this producer. On my never-buy-again list.

11/19/20, 4:51 AM - Sorry to hear about your troubles with the Brovia, DK. I’ve opened two of my four bottles of the 06 Villero and they’ve been very good. No issues. But I sourced mine in the US. I wonder if something happened to the bottles that were shipped to the Ontario agent.

11/19/20, 5:15 AM - Sounds like that's what happened. Could have spent months in a hot container and/or in the LCBO's warm warehouse aging program.

11/19/20, 6:24 AM - Do you think the score is helpful for what sounds like an off bottle?

Like does it make sense to score a corked wine?

Have you had issues with Brovia in other vintages, or was it a batch of 06s that you're having issues broadly with?

11/19/20, 6:29 AM - Opened a 2004 a couple weeks back; oxidized fruit and VA. Undrinkable.

11/19/20, 9:18 AM - I have had 2 bottles of the 2004 recently and they were stunning....bought from LCBO.
I am going to try a 2006 tonight to see....very curious.

11/19/20, 11:16 AM - It's likely rude to comment... but looking at the OPs tasting notes, I get the sense they don't like nebbiolo very much, or at least not with any age. Lots and lots of notes with a score of 50.

Of course they could have the worst luck with these wines, but seems like a better route would be stop purchasing them, as they've indicated in a series of notes.

11/19/20, 11:29 AM - Traxx: “lots and lots of 50 point scores” for Nebbiolo? I see one for a 2003 Mauro Molino, and the 50 pt scores for the 2006 Brovia Villero. That’s it. How is that “lots and lots”? Personally I wouldn’t have submitted three 50 pt scores ror the same wine - even if it was three separate bottles - because it skews the average. Which I know DK knows. 😉
