September 14, 2019 - Just goes to show: bottle variation rules... This bottle was far better than previous ones - not great but good. I will look forward to seeing how the rest of the case behaves...

12/13/20, 6:19 PM - I’ve seen tons of variation with this wine. I’m sensitive to TCA and have found several bottles very, very lightly corked or just ‘off’.

12/14/20, 2:11 AM - Thanks for that. I reckon this just demonstrates how difficult 2003 was as a vintage: heat like they had never before seen, for days and days (and most importantly nights). Presumably some vats just didn't work out right. I am delighted for those whose bottles have been a success, but that really hasn't been my experience generally. Such is the real joy of wine - it is not a tightly controlled chemical reaction....
