Appearance : Light ruby with legs
On nose : pronounced intensity, red fruit : raspberries, black fruit : Chinese blue date, clove, lichorice, dry leafiness, vanilla oak, some spiciness, very complex.
On palate : med flavour intensity, med+ acidity, then follow with unexpected med+ tannin, black fruit on front palate but a bit hollow and empty feeling on mid- palate. Some bitterness and savoury leafiness aftertaste, a hint of spiciness and med finishing.
As a Grand Cru from Clos Vougeot, I would say grapes may be collected from the upper part of the clos. The flavour is not that intensive and concentrated. The aroma is much better than on palate. May be it is too young to open. Keep it for 5 more years to see any further development. Cheers!2 people found this helpful 2,422 views
