December 27, 2020 - First time ever I try a wine made of the ruché grape, and I find it a very distinct grape with its own individual character. Aromatic nose of black and sweet cherries, blueberries, violets, licorice, dusty roads, toasted wood and sweet spices. Big mouthfeel of ripe meaty cherries, good concentration, medium acidity, lots of fine tannins, 15,5 abv, medium finish. Not the style I usually prefer, the fruit a little to ripe and sweet, but I must admit I found it an interesting wine. Good match to a home made pizza, and I would actually love to try this again in a few more years. The wine will probably benefit from 5 years cellaring.
