January 22, 2021 - This wine certainly has potential. Could it go all the way? Maybe.
A lovely nose, but still som unintegrated oak and som tannins even after a 10 hour decant and 2 double decants.
But everything is there and the fruit is just lovely.
Montebello seems to undergo gradual modernization, but it is done in a good way.
My fourth vintage of this wine: 97, 2012, 2013 and 2017.3 people found this helpful 8,056 views

3/15/21, 4:51 PM - I have been holding back in trying (My case is sitting in my cellar) but I am tempted to try after reading your note. I too have many vintages with 1999, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. They really age well so I have been trying not to drink to young. I liked the 2012 so much I drank it all.
