February 18, 2021 - After a looong, cold week in Houston, this was much needed. My first of the 2018 Walter Scott Pinots. What I find interesting about WS Pinots is that they are relatively approachable when young while the Chards need a ton of time or air.
Limpid reddish purple in color. Nose is textbook Eola Amity. It has bright red raspberry, ripe strawberry, some lavender, and deep but refreshing minerality. It also has a mild saline quality that's hard to describe. The palate is elegant yet shows a lot of concentration driven by zippy acidity. Ripe raspberries and lots of spices. This will no doubt develop complexity over the next few years but it's really enjoyable now.1 person found this helpful 1,670 views
