February 27, 2021 - 2018 LPV Blind Tasting: VV, Carter, Fait Main, Quivet and B Cellars (Lang's): 2018 LPV blind tasting. Wines: Vice Versa, Carter La Verdad, Quivet, Fait Main and B Cellars. Six total tasters. All wines decanted 3+ hours.

The VV tied for first with Verdad. It was a little closed to start but started putting on weight as it was exposed to more and more air. I'd say this is the most classically made and well balanced wine of the group. The acidity was a bit crisper and the focus a bit better. While they all begged for more time in the bottle, this one seems the clear longer term ager of the group. Overall, while not as ripe or powerful as the Verdad, it was my favorite by a hair.

    2/27/21, 3:32 PM - Cristal2000-

Of the 18 VV line up I liked LPV the most (no DrC poured).

How do we get the complete line up scoring? Were did Fait Main land?

Thanks as always for the notes!

2/27/21, 3:51 PM - Hi MJP - VV's LPV is awesome when it's open for business. My only issue is it's the most fickle with shutting down. But it was clearly great during this tasting.

Sadly FM came in last. I was shocked. Maybe just the bottle. I will wrap these into a story to make it easier to see the notes. Order was 1T) VV 1T) Verdad 3) B Cellars 4) Quivet 5) FM

2/28/21, 8:05 AM - Thanks again for the ranking on the LPV lineup. I wonder where the MM 18 LPV would fall. Have you tasted yet?

2/28/21, 8:43 AM - I sadly haven't had the finished 18 MM LPV. I'd have loved to throw it in this tasting. When I've had MM in blinds before, it almost always ranks in the top 1/3, often times coming in second if memory serves.
