February 26, 2021 - Surprisingly youthful at 7 years. Still has, at least 5 years to go to its plateau. I decanted 4 oz for 1 hour for the Coravin. Lovely ruby with purple. Light color depth for a RRV pinot, more like Petaluma Gap. Cola on the nose first, then baking spices with red raspberry, sour cherry and strawberry fruit. With lots of air, nice complex notes of tea and bramble emerge. No mushroom or prominent oak aromas. Medium +weight, tart, grippy, not particularly silky pinot-rough tannins. Fruit is upfront but then vanishes in the medium finish. This wine seems to have the potential for something more than deliciousness. At this point, more straight forward than the 2014 Maboroshi by DeLoach. Needs time.
