  March 10, 2021 - I’m amazed at how one captures so much fruit in the aromatics (and color), yet manage to keep it so in-check i.e., restrained, in the flavor profile. These are definitely food wines, which is one reason I sought you out.
  My meal now complete and so, left alone with the balance of the bottle...to sip and analyze, I find myself longing for the herbal earthiness that I love so much in French wines (I believe they refer to it as garigue?).
  ...and I just realized that it’s taken me 20+ years to accept that the climate and so, fruit grown here is so kissed by the California sun that (short of the strong effort in the Sta. Rita Hills AVA), garigue can never be an inherent characteristic of domestic wines.
