March 18, 2021 - Popped and poured. Deep purple core; notes of black cherry, pomegranate, raspberry, crushed stone. Medium to full bodied, extracted, good depth, excellent acidity which provides good structure and grip. Needs a few years in the cellar to integrate; will need to relocate from my wife’s “safe to drink” cellar and hide them away in mine! Should merit a higher rating with time.

It was an intense vintage— super high “phenolic index” (color, tannin and other phenolic compounds) due to hybrid stress (record breaking dry weather in 2018 resulted in less water in the berries, thus a much higher % of phenolics, sugar and acids for that matter).
