December 31, 2008 - Vibrant purple with pink highlights in glass. Generous nose of raspberry/strawberry fruit underneath loads of clove, pepper, and some crushed leaves. Medium-bodied, Juicy attack of raspberry/tart strawberry giving way to loads of spice/clove/pepper fading to a medium dry finish with fine firm tannins and hint of coffee/mocha and anise. Slightly hot on the midpalate, but a very well-made smooth drinking wine. Drinking very young right now and needs time to integrate all these components. Great QPR, but the price seems to be creeping up with all the WS accolades. (B+).
