To be clear this was at a point in the night where I was not at my most discerning :-) ... we had been trying some excellent wines and this was more of a budget-conscious nightcap. That said, my impression was, wow, I think I should move these earlier in the drinking queue. Tannins had really settled down. Whether it would have opened up further with time is hard for me to say, but this had a nice pure taste.
