May 6, 2021 - Has anyone had this yet? I am very excited to try it but I don't want to waste a bottle and I no longer have confidence in my Coravin!

5/6/21, 1:15 PM - I haven't tried it, but I'd recommend calling Realm and asking their advice. I've had success in the past doing this. I assume this still has not shutdown, but curious what they might say.

5/6/21, 1:25 PM - Thx - that's smart advice as I have done that before as well.

5/6/21, 1:32 PM - Haven't even received mine yet but I'd guess it'll need a long long decant to be there. Hoping a review or two pops up soon.

5/6/21, 2:47 PM - I had one the other night. It was very good after about 10 hours of air. I was disappointed in a 13 vintage I had on a recent trip to Napa, so I wanted this to talk me back into being enthusiastic about the wine. It did by the end of the night. Don't open it unless you can let it breathe for a long time.

5/6/21, 3:22 PM - For what it's worth, here's the sequential ranking that the winery gave me when I asked about opening these up early back in March:

    Most Ready to Drink Now

    2018 Houyi
    2018 Beckstoffer Bourn

    Needs to Lie Down

    2018 Beckstoffer To Kalon
    2018 Farella
    2018 Dr. Crane

I took their advice and opened up the Houyi, which was surprisingly ready for a Pritchard Hill wine. I haven't jumped to the bottom of the list to try the Crane, but Cristal2000's comment has me thinking...

5/6/21, 4:47 PM - The 18 was super tight when I opened it. Took a sip. So it certainly wouldn't be the first one to grab, but it did finally come around nicely after all that time. I will say, I had a bit left over next day and it wasn't nearly as good.

5/6/21, 4:55 PM - The 18s are really interesting to me. They seem to have a small window of decanting time when they are good. For such a heralded vintage they are very finnicky.

5/6/21, 5:43 PM - I will try to wait but like MSU, I am now temped to work with a bottle.

5/6/21, 7:47 PM - Awesome wine based on past vintages, but i wouldn't dream of opening it until 2024/2025 at minimum. These single vineyard beauties, from great vintages, need time.
