The Beyer family have been wine-growers in Eguisheim, the cradle of the Alsace wine-producing region, since 1580. In 1867, Emile Beyer founded the "Maison de Vin d'Alsace", currently run by Leon Beyer, who took over the reins from his father Leon Beyer senior in 1959, and his son Marc.

100% Riesling from the Grand Cru vineyard to the family in Eugesheim.

Overall, the 2008 vintage was good but, for most regions, it stopped short of being truly excellent.

Intense golden gold yellow color, or looks like morning urine, but please dont mix this with the smell.

Medium nose, but decanting the wine release some lovely. Fragrances of citrus, green apple peel, peach, apricot, butter, earthy, tertiary aromas. Honey, some petroleum that fades away, hint of minerals like crushed stone and oyster shell.

Vibrant and nuance and a well developed Riesling, exact the way I like them. Well balanced and in great proposition with both fruit and acidity. Soft at the palate, but still a powerful and complex wine with layers by layers. Very long finish.
