May 8, 2021 - Listen to all the other notes, this needs to sit or needs an extended decant!!!!! The nose will fool you, fresh cut strawberries and cherries with some cranberry juice and florals; hints of earth and green pepper are the only clues that the tannins will provide the astringency equivalent to sucking on pure chunks of pine bark. I have never had tannin dominate to this level in a BdM before, but the nose certainly offers promise if you have the patience to lay this down. Got this for $35 bones at JJB, but only time will tell if the tannins will settle during my lifespan or will this be something I pass down to future generations in my will (with the stipulation to add notes to CT for posterity). With the tannins so out of whack, have to evaluate this as a B- (83) for now.

My initial experience was: this is a young BdM, that when paired with a good food match, was very approachable and led me to order 5 more bottles. I love this wine, and of course will improve with age as expected, but enjoyable now as well IMO
