    May 29, 2021 - Deep ruby.

Nose: Stunning, vividly rendered notes of cherry pates des fruits, crushed loganberry, smoking candle wick, blackberry preserve, Indian spice, crushed vanilla bean, pencil lead.

Mouth: Various glossy mixed fruits gush out of the gate: cassis, raspberry, blackberry puree, dark cherry, dripping down the palate as vanilla bean, light alder, and anise notes swell up around. The finish is sleek and delicate, showing powdered chalk that keeps this grounded in St. Emilion and extends everything nicely as the fruit keeps running.

Overall: Probably one of the most generous versions out of this site, (and for some it may be too ripe), but my god is the fruit gorgeous. The aromatics of the nose alone are something to behold, which set you up for a mirror image of fruit in the mouth while the finish keeps everything honest in the end. Has enormous range after decanting, with the fruit continuing to have full reign as flashes of spice and vanilla dance around. Very difficult to put down. Drink now until 2035.

    97.
