  June 3, 2021 - A surprise gentleman's dinner and a first for me from this producer. A chance to sit down with 2 other knowledgeable chaps and enjoy some great wines. Really open from the first pour, surprisingly lush and feminine with a lot of rose perfume notes, lots of macerated red raspberries and a subtle soil/spice note. Equally impressive on the palate with an openness and approachability I don't normally associate with Bonnes Mares or the 1999 vintage. Totally ready to drink and must be at its peak but no rush to drink them quickly if you are lucky enough to have them in your cellar. Delicious, seductive and intriguing!
