  June 10, 2021 - This Spanish bottle was a Christmas gift from a couple of years back - obviously pre-CoVid - that finally rose to the top of my ‘drink now’ wines.
  The intense inky blend of Monastrell (75%), Syrah (18%) and Garnacha (7%) offers aromas and tastes of black berries and cherries with hints of toast and pepper. The texture was leathery with a medium finish.
  Bodegas La Purisima ages these varieties in French oak for a year (Crianza) and 16 months (Reserva). It was certainly a pleasant bottle - though a free bottle always tastes better since it’s got the perfect QPR.
