July 17, 2021 - Half the magnum was poured off to two half bottles for later in the week. The remaining half was poured into a decanter and allowed to breath for one and a half hours. The wine was consumed over a slow lunch of Roast Rib Eye and roast vegetables. From first sip the wine was an absolute delight. Bouquet of dark plums, red and black berries, dark chocolate and a hint of spice. Very dark red, almost black (typical of the Barossa), with red brick edges showing some brown. Big body, plum, berries, dark chocolate, integrated acid and wood with soft tannins. A real delight, I look forward to the two half bottles over the next couple of days. 93
